Collagen Can Improve Your Health
Everyone has probably heard that Collagen is supposed to be good for hair, skin and nails. But there is a lot more to collagen than beauty. It helps form the connective tissues of the body and has been shown to alleviate some forms of joint pain. Collagen has a different amino acid profile than the proteins we usually eat. The high glycine and arginine content in collagen is important because these two amino acids are involved with tissue growth and repair.
There is evidence that collagen may increase bone density after six months of use if animal studies extrapolate to humans. The studies involved substituting 30% of protein intake with collagen. But is this practical and what would the ramifications be? Well, one of the ramifications’ will be stronger arteries if you take at least 10 grams of collagen. Collagen supports tissue repair and can help keep arteries more pliable. Another ramification could be life changing. What if you take 15 to 20 grams of collagen and reduce your protein from meat? Perhaps you could eat extra salads doused with olive oil plus vegetables, fruits and whole grains? This would skew your diet more toward the Mediterranean diet.
Typically I start my day with a MitoQ to get my mitochondrial energy started for the day. About a half hour later, I do 15 to 20 grams of Collagen Maximizer that I get from one of my sponsors www.yunquemarket.com ; I like it because there is no clumping like other collagens and there are no added ingredients.
If you would like to know more about collagen, covid-19, eyesight research, energy and some of the late breaking nutritional news, please join us at Atlanta Tech Park Wednesday July 22 at 7 PM. Just make sure you are well, wear a mask, follow social distance protocols and don’t touch anything other than the chair you will be sitting in. Atlanta Tech Park has plenty of hand sanitizers and arranges their chairs for total social distancing. Our last meeting went off without a hitch and was so much fun to actually meet in person.
